Last weekend some of the clean streams team attended their first volunteer planting day at Motutapu Island. The entire volunteer team was made up of approximately 100 people and they managed to plant 800 plants in just under 2 hours. The efficiency of the planting allowed for plenty of time to explore the island and this was made even more enjoyable by the stunning weather.
The Motutapu Restoration Trust is a group made up of well-organised and passionate individuals. Volunteer days are frequent during planting season and the schedule can be found here.
This is the first of many events that the team will attend. We hope to not only assist with the physical work but pass on our knowledge to the local community members as well.
